As January comes to a close, I return briefly to the invitation I shared at the beginning of the year. This month has held different realities for many of us: joy and answered prayers for some, sorrow and disruption for others. Here in Mozambique, devastating floods have displaced families and destroyed homes and livelihoods, reminding us that consistency is not only about the habits we form, but also about the compassion we practice.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
As we reflect on how we have shown up to the small commitments we chose in January, we are also invited to give faithfully, each according to our ability, trusting that even small, repeated acts of generosity can help restore hope and dignity to families affected by the floods.
Small actions, repeated faithfully = consistency. Keep doing it!
P.S I’ve shared how I’m defining consistency this year, but I’d love to hear your perspective. How do you view consistency in your current season of life is it a struggle, a strength, or something you're seeing in a new light? Let’s share our thoughts in the comments.

For me consistency is an act of surrender to the Most High, the humility to accept that I do not hold anything in my hands except His grace, His mercy, and free will—free will to chose God over idols, free will to chose praise over pain, free will to chose first Him and then Him and finally Him in all things. Yet how often I run ahead of myself, realizing that I moved forward without the simple act of acknowledging God in all my ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). Yet He is there, waiting for me, always faithful.
