Part I: Why Sorrow, Success, and Surrender?
When I first began writing these poems, I had no plan to share them publicly. They were born out of private moments, prayer, and pain — a quiet processing of life's ups and downs.
The title Sorrow, Success, and Surrender emerged over time, as I realized these three words captured the emotional and spiritual landscape, I’ve walked through over quite some time.
Sorrow reflects those dark, lonely seasons — such as the grief of a lost pregnancy, or the quiet ache of a long marriage coming to an end.
Success for me, isn’t about accolades or wealth — it’s about rising each day, showing up to do life, and embracing the courage to move forward, even if I don’t have it all together. Surrender? It’s the beautiful place where I lay it all at God’s feet.
This book is more than poetry. It’s testimony. It’s truth. It’s my whispered prayer turned into words written down. My hope is that as you read these poems, you will find a reflection of your own journey — and be reminded that God is with you through every season.
